Cornelie Crous worked at the University of the Free State for 17 years and specialised in Corporate Governance, Computer Applications, internal controls and Business Ethics. In 2018, Cornelie moved to the Business School and lectured Financial and Managerial Accounting, Business Ethics and Governance from undergraduate to post-graduate level. 

Cornelie received the award for the best performer in Teaching and Learning and has been involved in the development of new curricula, modules and material for different types of educational modes (online, blended and face-to-face modes of delivery).

Cornelie completed her PhD in 2016 and specialised in the non-financial reporting of Higher Education Institutions based on the requirements of the Corporate Governance Reports in South Africa and global best practices. Cornelie’s current research focuses on non-financial reporting based on voluntary ESG disclosures and which subsections of ESG reporting yield the highest return/ financial performance to listed companies.
