Duncan Watta

Member of the Technical Committee

Duncan has been the Chairman of the Board at the Institute of Directors, Kenya and the Chairman of the Strategy Committee as well as the Nominations Committee. During this tenure, he devoted a lot of time to building structures for director development to enhance better corporate governance within the East African region. Currently he is a member of a special Committee created by the Board of Africa Corporate Governance Network (ACGN) that is charged with the very critical mandate to help create local corporate governance secretariats for those countries that are yet to establish any such. 

 

Duncan possesses extensive operational and strategy development experience in Supply Chain Management and Information Technology management. Has been involved in several policy formulations for IT and Supply Chain management. He has worked in multi industries including – mobile telecoms, construction, tobacco as well as foods and personal care within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector. 

 

Duncan is also a founder of an agricultural processing business that practices environmental conservation through organic methods of food production. The aim is to promote a healthy lifestyle through organic food that is produced sustainably thereby conserving the environment.
