Loise Wangui is a certified sustainability professional with a legal and finance background and 15 years of experience. She is an expert in capital markets, climate adaptation finance, ESG integration and sustainability reporting. Loise is passionate about helping companies address the shift in the assessment of corporate performance to one that includes both financial and non-financial performance; through identification, measurement, integration, and reporting of ESG performance in a manner that addresses stakeholder needs and builds long-term value.

Before founding Protos Capital, Loise was the Chief Officer, Regulatory Affairs and ESG lead at the Nairobi Securities Exchange, where she championed various initiatives to drive sustainable investments and encourage sustainable business practices. These include developing the first ESG Disclosure Guidelines for listed companies in Kenya, and the Listing Rules and Issuer Guide for Green Bonds.  

Loise holds a Masters in Law (LL.M) in Public Finance and Financial Services Law from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from the same university. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a GRI-certified sustainability professional, a certified company secretary and a certified expert in climate adaptation finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
